The Odenwald Kneipp spa is located in the "UNESCO Geo-Nature Park Bergstraße-Odenwald" at an altitude of between 420 and 570 meters above sea level. The districts of Grasellenbach are crossed by the two most important streams in the Odenwald, the Ulfenbach and the Weschnitz, which have their source near the district of Hammelbach, where the watershed between the Neckar and Rhine rivers runs. The municipality of Grasellenbach was created in its current form in 1972 from the then independent municipalities of Hammelbach, Litzelbach, Gras-Ellenbach, Wahlen and Scharbach. The districts combined in the new construct of Grasellenbach (without a hyphen) had already been part of the Churpfalz "Aicher Cent" from the Middle Ages until the beginning of the 19th century.
